Ophelia Brown, 58, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at her home.

She was born Jan. 22, 1943, in Memphis, Tenn., daughter of John L. and Lillie M. Lewis Wiseman.

Brown was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and its choir, and a former member of Eastern Star.

Survivors include four sons, Kenneth Brown and Johnny Brown Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Michael Brown of Owanta, Minn., Charles Brown of Farmington, Mo.; two daughters, Marsha Brown and Sherry Cleaves of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Roberta Brown of Cape Girardeau, Rosetta Craine of Champaign, Ill., Bertha Knox of Memphis, Clemmie Martin of Spring Hill, La.; four brothers, Cassell Wiseman of Cape Girardeau, Chester and James Wiseman of Holly Springs, Miss., Willie Wiseman of Tampa, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a granddaughter, five brothers, and three sisters.

Friends may call at New Bethel Church from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
