DEXTER -- Oscar Lockaby, 75, of Dexter, died at his home Thursday, July 6, 1995. He was born in Eddyville, Ill., on Oct. 2, 1919, son of Francis Oscar and Flora King Lockaby. He lived in the Essex area before moving to Dexter in 1955. He was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ and the Missouri Sheriff's Association. He formerly owned and operated Lockaby's Grocery in Cotton Belt, and had formerly worked at the Dexter Packing Co. and Dexter Nursing Center...

DEXTER -- Oscar Lockaby, 75, of Dexter, died at his home Thursday, July 6, 1995.

He was born in Eddyville, Ill., on Oct. 2, 1919, son of Francis Oscar and Flora King Lockaby.

He lived in the Essex area before moving to Dexter in 1955. He was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ and the Missouri Sheriff's Association. He formerly owned and operated Lockaby's Grocery in Cotton Belt, and had formerly worked at the Dexter Packing Co. and Dexter Nursing Center.

On Dec. 15, 1951, he married Luella Lockaby. She preceded him in death on March 11, 1990.

He is survived by four nieces, Vivian Maddox of Essex, Shirley Lenderman of Sikeston, Wanda Cook of Pelham, Ga., and Betty Stracener of Keiser, Ark.

Friends may call after 6 tonight at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Dale Grissom and Jim Faughn officiating. Burial will be in the Essex Cemetery.
