PERRYVILLE -- Palmer R. Clifton of Florida, formerly of Perryville, died Friday, March 28, 1997, at Horizon Speciality and Rehab Center in Kissimmee, Fla. He was 75 years old.
He was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Yount, son of John and Corinna Mercer Clifton. On May 30, 1943, he married Dorothy May Blaylock. He was a self-employed landlord of motels and mobile home parks in Florida and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Company H 376 Infantry, 94th Division.
He had several affiliations in Perryville, including Immanuel Lutheran Church, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the White Water Christian Church. He also belonged to the Space Coasters Camping Club in Orlando, Fla., and the Daytona Beach Boat Club in Daytona Beach, Fla.
He is survived by his mother of Farmington; his wife of Davenport, Fla.; one daughter, Lavonne Dansky of Morganton, N.C.; one son, Kevin Clifton of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Lee Ann Modde of Perryville and Ada Umfleet of Little Rock, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at Young & Sons Chapel in Perryville from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, and on Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. An American Legion wake is scheduled for 7 p.m. today, and the VFW wake will be at 7:15 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Jeffrey Lloyd officiating.
