SIKESTON -- Paul Q. Heckemeyer, 76, of Sikeston, died Sunday, June 23, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center, following a heart attack. He was born Sept. 5, 1914, in St. Louis, son of Benjamin and Tess Whyte Heckemeyer. Heckemeyer was a retired cattleman. He moved to Sikeston in 1935 from St. Louis. SIKESTON -- Paul Q. Heckemeyer, 76, of Sikeston, died Sunday, June 23, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center, following a heart attack.

He was born Sept. 5, 1914, in St. Louis, son of Benjamin and Tess Whyte Heckemeyer.

Heckemeyer was a retired cattleman. He moved to Sikeston in 1935 from St. Louis. He traded livestock at The Wagon Yard in Sikeston. He built the Heckemeyer sale barn, which later became the P and M Cattle Co.

He was also a partner in Heckemeyer Farms, and was active in many civic and fraternal organizations in and around Sikeston.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church here.

On May 31, 1935, he married Frances Elizabeth Goetz in St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Judge Anthony J. Heckemeyer of Sikeston; three daughters, Vicki Lindsey of Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y., Penny Terrell and Anne Marshall of Sikeston; a brother, Ben Heckemeyer of San Jose, Calif., and 11 grandchildren.

A sister, Celeste Heckemeyer, preceded him in death.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Church with Rev. Amel Shibley officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
