Pauline M. Davault, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 23, 1927, in Fruitland, daughter of the late William "Paul" and Blanche Irene Morton McDowell. On May 22, 1949, she married Roy W. Davault.

She was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau and was very active in the women's organization and Meals on Wheels at the church.

She was a graduate of Jackson High School and the former Steimle Business College in Cape Girardeau. For 42 years, she worked at Centerre Bank and First National Bank. She started her career in the bookkeeping department and when she retired in 1989 she was an auditor at the bank. She served as president of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association for many years.

Survivors include her husband; three sisters, Virginia Lee Gremore of Sikeston, Mo., Phyllis Williams of Arnold, Mo., and Marilyn Bollinger of Jackson; and two brothers, Jerry and Harold McDowell of Jackson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Anselm Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Fruitland.
