CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Pauline Hinton, 71, of Charleston died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, near Charleston. She was born Nov. 11, 1928, in St. Louis, daughter of Louis William and Lura May Hughes Achter. She and J.W. Hinton were married Nov. 23, 1946. Hinton lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She had worked at Brown Shoe Co. and also owned and operated Pauline's Beauty Shop, retiring in 1967. She was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church...

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Pauline Hinton, 71, of Charleston died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, near Charleston.

She was born Nov. 11, 1928, in St. Louis, daughter of Louis William and Lura May Hughes Achter. She and J.W. Hinton were married Nov. 23, 1946.

Hinton lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She had worked at Brown Shoe Co. and also owned and operated Pauline's Beauty Shop, retiring in 1967. She was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Dan Hinton of Sikeston, Mo.; two brothers, Jack Achter of Matthews, Mo., Les Achter of state of Florida; a half sister, Dorothy Telker of Charleston; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jon Archie officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
