Peggy Tinsley

Peggy Jean Tinsley, 67, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born Nov. 2, 1942, in Fornfelt, to Pearl H. and Georgia Applegate Klingeman. She first married Leo King in 1959 in Cape Girardeau. She then married Thomas Tinsley in 1984 in Las Vegas. They both survive.

She grew up in Cape Girardeau and supervised 10 Quik Shop locations for 13 years, then owned and operated Peggy Clothing Store four years. She managed Seifert's Clothing Store 18 years, and since 1999 was store manager with Pendleton shops. Peggy was an avid gardener and flower raiser. She was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Tinsley of Cape Girardeau; a son, Steven King of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, Clyde Tinsley of Malakoff, Texas; two daughters, Debbie (Paul) Schrock of Cape Girardeau, Karen (Quentin) Gaither of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Bill Klingeman of Scott City, Phillip Klingeman of Sikeston, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hanover Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Patrick Kobak officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Church Cemetery.
