PERRYVILLE -- Perry A. Wood, 88, of Perryville died Saturday, Aug. 16, 1997, at PerryOaks Healthcare at Perryville. He was born Feb. 18, 1909, in Perry County, son of Prince Edward and Marcella Mary Richardet Wood. He married Alma H. Hoffman on June 2, 1930. She survives...PERRYVILLE -- Perry A. He was born Feb. 18, 1909, in Perry County, son of Prince Edward and Marcella Mary Richardet Wood.
He married Alma H. Hoffman on June 2, 1930. She survives.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 1283.

Other survivors include a son, George W. Wood of Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Rhonda Buchheit of Biehle and Carol Sue Moegle of St. Louis; a brother, Melvin "Moe" Wood of Perryville; two sisters, Nellie Gibbar and Ollie Streiler, both of Perryville; 23 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, with a wake service at 7, and from 6:30 to 9:40 a.m. Tuesday.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Revs. J. Friedel and Norbert Wood officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
