Elbert "Pete" Wadlington, 81, 2249 Sherwood, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 1996, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
He was born June 28, 1915, at Blodgett, son of Robert and Laura Adele Dean Wadlington. He and Marjorie Celestine Welter were married Jan. 31, 1936. She died Sept. 7, 1991.
Wadlington had been manager at United Oil Co. and Martin Oil Co.
Survivors include a son, Dick Wadlington of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Nancy Green of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Robert and Fred Wadlington of Scott City; a sister, Elva Sander of Belleville, Ill.; a special friend, Pansy Hellman of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 5-9 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. William Dickey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
