PETER VALLE MICHAUD

PERRYVILLE -- Funeral mass for Peter Valle Michaud of Perryville will be said Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Perryville.

Mr. Michaud died Wednesday at the Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was 78.

He was born March 30, 1912 in Perryville, the son of Charles "Carl" W. and Henrietta Matilda Milfeldt Michaud.

He married Pearl Anna Fadler, who survives.

He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. He also operated Perryville's first cab company, City Cab, from 1945-53.

He was a retired heavy machinery operator for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Survivors include his mother; two sons, Oliver W. "Mitch" Michaud of Perryville and Melvin C. Michaud of Euless, Texas; two daughters, Yvonne V. Schnitzler of Festus and Regina Sandra Zahner of Oakville; three brothers, John Harvey Michaud, Harold J. Michaud and Merlin Russell Michaud, all of Perryville; two sisters, Marie Ottanna Lawrence of Perryville and Helen Triller of Oakville; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, two sons, a brother, a sister and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville, until 9:45 a.m. Saturday. A parish wake service is scheduled for today at 7 p.m.
