ORAN -- Preston Howell, 90, of Memphis, Tenn., died Sunday, Oct. 16, 1994, at the Germantown Community Methodist East Hospital in Germantown, Tenn.
He was born in Oran Jan. 15, 1904, the son of William and Frances Dennis Howell.
He had lived in Memphis since 1988.
He was a retired clerk of the Frisco Railway Co. in Kennett. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Caruthersville and the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks.
He married Mable Jarrett in 1940, and she preceded him in death. He later married Bethel Malloure, who also preceded him in death.
Survivors are two daughters, Mary Lou Howell of Memphis and Martha Guildner of Greenwood, Ind., and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters.
Visitation will begin Monday at 6 p.m. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
There will be a graveside service Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Friend Cemetery in Oran. The Rev. John Gregory will officiate.
