SIKESTON -- Ralph Edward Wyatt, 75, of Duncanville, Texas, and formerly of Sikeston, died Saturday, July 1, 1995, at Vencor Hospital in Mansfield, Texas, after an extended illness.

He was born Sept. 29, 1919, at Sikeston the son of Clarence Edward and Maggie Bell Johnson Wyatt. On Oct. 5, 1938, he married Martha Land at New Madrid. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and had been the transportation director for the Hueblein Corporation in Dallas for five years prior to his retirement. He previously worked as a truck driver for Potlatch-Forrest Company in Sikeston for 10 years prior to moving to Texas in 1989.

Other survivors include two sons, Ralph E. "Sonny" Wyatt of Dallas and Ronald L. Wyatt of Denton, Texas; a daughter, Martha Ann Whitaker of Midlothian, Texas; two brothers, John Wyatt of St. Louis and Carl Wyatt of Morrow, Ga.; five sisters, Lola Nelson of Sikeston, Lucy Bradshaw of Jasper, Ga., Mary Ellen Underhill of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Sue Glasscock and Wanda Brown, both of Duncanville; and five grandsons.

Two brothers and a granddaughter preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Keith Wilson will officiate, and burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
