ORAN, Mo. -- Ralph S. Heisserer, 89, of Oran passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born June 1, 1925, at Oran, son of the late Raymond G. and Alma C. Dirnberger Heisserer. He married Mary Lou Enderle on May 8, 1948, at St. Augustine Church in Kelso, Missouri. ORAN, Mo. -- Ralph S. Heisserer, 89, of Oran passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 1, 1925, at Oran, son of the late Raymond G. and Alma C. Dirnberger Heisserer. He married Mary Lou Enderle on May 8, 1948, at St. Augustine Church in Kelso, Missouri. She preceded him in death March 21, 2014.

Ralph was a 1942 graduate of Oran High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, having duty in the occupation of Korea with the 7th Infantry Division Headquarters Co. in Seoul, Korea.

Ralph was a farmer all his life, raising registered Angus cattle. He was a member of the American Angus Association and Missouri Crop Improvement Association 55 years, raising Foundation and Certified seed. He was a member of Guardian Angel Parish in Oran his entire life.

Survivors include two sons, Karl M. and wife Barbara Curtis Heisserer of Indianapolis, Melvin R. and wife Shirley Hanstein Heisserer of Shiloh, Illinois; a daughter, Dolores Heisserer- Andersen of Oran; eight grandsons, Joseph "J.P." (Jenny), Eric, Michael (Ashley) and James Heisserer, all of Indianapolis, Christopher Heisserer of St. Louis, Brian and Lucas Heisserer of Shiloh, Shane Andersen of Cape Girardeau; and a granddaughter, Louise (David Harris) Andersen of Helena, Montana.

Also four great-grandsons, Curtis Ray, Cole, Nolan and Oliver Heisserer of Indianapolis; six great-granddaughters, Elizabeth, Ryleigh, Lily and Olivia Heisserer, all of Indianapolis, Allie Lou and Krista Harris of Helena; four sisters, Margarita Heisserer of St. Peters, Missouri, Joan (Howard) Busche of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Helen Walker of Middletown, Virginia, and Margaret O'Neill of Rockport, Massachusetts.

He was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Robert and Curtis Lee Heisserer, a son-in-law, Robert Andersen; and a brother-in-law, Christopher Walker.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Parish prayers will be at 6:30.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Guardian Angel Church. Burial will be in Old Guardian Angel Cemetery, with full military honors by Missouri Honor Guard.
