MURPHYSBORO, Ill. -- Raymond Kenneth Garrett, 76, of Murphysboro died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill. He was born Dec. 16, 1926, in Anna, son of Otis and Iva Ann Boyer Garrett. He and Frances Brimm were married Aug. 30, 1946, in Piggott, Ark...

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. -- Raymond Kenneth Garrett, 76, of Murphysboro died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.

He was born Dec. 16, 1926, in Anna, son of Otis and Iva Ann Boyer Garrett. He and Frances Brimm were married Aug. 30, 1946, in Piggott, Ark.

Garrett was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Raymond Garrett of Jonesboro, Michael Garrett of Osaka, Japan, Ronnie Garrett; a daughter, Carol Hoppe of Campbell Hill, Ill.; two brothers, Joe Garrett of Jonesboro, Harold Garrett of Anna; a sister, Gladys Burnes of Anna; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 9 a.m. until time of service.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Cripps officiating. Burial will be in Anna City Cemetery, with full military honors by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
