Peggy "Renee" Pletcher, 62, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Centralia, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Heartland Care and Rehab in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 29, 1953, in Centralia, daughter of Fred E. and Donna (Bundy) Mainer.

In addition to her father, Fred Eugene Mainer of Centralia, she is survived by three daughters, Tara Suzanne, Mary Ann and Kaci Lynn Pletcher, all of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Jaiden Rayleigh, Evan Scott and Macie Lynn, all of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Diana Lynne Rose, and husband, William David, of Charlotte, North Carolina; a nephew and two nieces, Stephen Adam Rose of Charlotte, Sarah Renee Rose of Chicago and Christin Rose Lukehart and husband, Bradley Scott, of Charlotte; an aunt, Elaine Piercy of Ohio; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Renee attended Southeast Missouri State University, where she graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She worked 20-plus years at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, starting out as a surgical technician.

She later moved on to be a surgical registered nurse, after graduating college, and then became a member of the heart team.

Renee finished her last years at the hospital as a nurse case manager. She then decided to take the opportunity to be a traveling nurse case manager and ended up choosing a permanent position at Seton Medical Center in Daly City, California.

She enjoyed the outdoors and river tubing, and she was a hunter and collector of antiques and Indian artifacts.

Renee was an avid reader and enjoyed cross stitching. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Little Grove Cemetery in Walnut Hill, Illinois, with Pastor John Willis officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Little Grove Cemetery Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
