PUXICO, Mo. -- Reuben Raymond Kitchen, 80, of Puxico died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. He was born April 8, 1920, in Kennett, son of Emerson and Bertha Acers Kitchen. Kitchen moved from Puxico to Denver, Colo., in 1947 and was chef at the Hogie Restaurant many years. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Denver. He moved back to Puxico in 1985...

PUXICO, Mo. -- Reuben Raymond Kitchen, 80, of Puxico died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born April 8, 1920, in Kennett, son of Emerson and Bertha Acers Kitchen.

Kitchen moved from Puxico to Denver, Colo., in 1947 and was chef at the Hogie Restaurant many years. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Denver. He moved back to Puxico in 1985.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Martinez of Los Angeles, Calif., Marilyn Kitchen of Denver; four sisters, Mary Hancock of Puxico, Billie Hargrave of Livonia, Mich., Betty Park of St. Louis, Marvin Beaudean of Sikeston; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dean Medlin officiating. Burial will be in Puxico Cemetery.
