JACKSON -- The Rev. Edward Putz, Route 4, Jackson, died Nov. 1, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was 69.
He was born Jan. 9, 1923, near Leeman, Mo., the son of Frank and Jessie Stanley Putz. He married Lavon Parrish Feb. 10, 1961. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Ron Putz of Millersville and Danny Putz of Jackson; two daughters, June Sides of Jackson and Doris Putz of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Bobby Putz of Rockford, Ill.; three sisters, Kirleen Wheeler of Cape Girardeau, Virgie Perry of Cape Girardeau and Bessie Paulsen of Audubon, Iowa; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.'
Rev. Putz was a timberman all his life. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church for the past three years, and served as pastor at the Beech Grove Baptist Church at Thebes, Ill., Unity Baptist Church in Unity, Ill., Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Tamms, Ill., and the Allenville Baptist Church in Allenville, Mo.,
He was licensed as a Baptist minister in 1971.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery near Pocahontas.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.
