A memorial service for the Rev. Dr. Neil Leslie Stein of Asheboro, N.C., will be held during the 10:45 a.m. worship service Sunday at Centenary United Methodist Church.

Stein, 65, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.

He was a United Methodist minister in the Missouri East Conference 36 years. He served as pastor at Centenary from November 1985 to September 1997 when he retired and moved to Asheboro. He also served as superintendent of the Poplar Bluff-Sikeston, Mo., District from 1974-80.
