JONESBORO, Ill. -- Funeral for the Rev. Spillman Britt of Jonesboro will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lutz and Rendleman funeral Home in Anna, Ill. The Rev. Davy Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery, with military honors by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and Saturday until service time.

Britt, 81, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 24, 1920, at Ullin, Ill., son of William Reuben and Mary Anglin Britt. He and Mary E. Dover were married March 29, 1941, at Jackson, Mo.

Britt was a member of Lockard Chapel Baptist Church, Operating Engineers Local 318, and life member of VFW Post 3455.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, William Britt of Jonesboro; and two granddaughters.
