Rhonda Fay Abbott, 48, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at her home.

She was born Feb. 12, 1954, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of LeRoy and Anna Hahs Ruch. She and David Abbott were married May 3, 1980.

Rhonda was a 1972 graduate of Jackson High School. She volunteered at the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau and was active in Mid-America Transplant programs. Although she was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, she also enjoyed assisting in various activities at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.

Loving survivors include her husband, David of Jackson; parents, LeRoy and Ann Ruch of Millersville, Mo.; a sister and brother-in-law, Marsha and Don Leckrone of Springfield, Ill.; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Matthew and Teri Ruch of Daisy, Mo., Dennis and Vickie Ruch, Tim and Cathy Ruch and Jeremy Ruch, all of Millersville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Benny and Dorothy Abbott of Cape Girardeau; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Gary Huckstep of Jackson and Donna and Tom Jones of Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, Scott, Clay, Amy DeWeese and David Leckrone; Mindy, Ryan, Emily Ruch; Trisha, Cory, Ethan Ruch; Dillon Ruch; Alexis Ruch; Jennifer Hart and husband Bobbie and Shawn Huckstep; and great-nieces, Paige DeWeese, Madison Sites and Kaitlin Hart.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be said at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Msgr. Edward Eftink and Father Charles Prost, CM, will officiate. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Mid-America Transplant Service, 1139 Olivette Executive Parkway, St. Louis, Mo., 63132.
