Richard Dean Slinkard, 72, of Whitewater passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Nov. 19, 1945, in Cape Girardeau to the late Boyd ï¿½Dickï¿½ and Hattie Allen Slinkard. Richard Dean Slinkard, 72, of Whitewater passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 19, 1945, in Cape Girardeau to the late Boyd ï¿½Dickï¿½ and Hattie Allen Slinkard.

Richard was a retired florist with Sweetheart Florist in Jackson, and a waiter for Ramada Inn in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Whitewater United Methodist Church in Whitewater.

He is survived by three nephews, Jeff Slinkard, Mark (Julie) Slinkard, both of Whitewater, and Chris (Amy) Slinkard of Cape Girardeau; four great-nieces, Amanda, Ashleigh, Andrea and Makenzie Slinkard; a great-nephew, Ryan Slinkard; two great-great-nieces, Raylyn Amos and Kynleigh Moake; and a sister-in-law, Carol Slinkard of Whitewater.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Slinkard.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service today at Whitewater United Methodist Church in Whitewater.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the church, with the Rev. Don Kuehle officiating. Burial will be at Whitewater United Methodist Church Cemetery in Whitewater.
