DEXTER, Mo. -- Robert C. Adams, 80, of Dexter died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at his home.
He was born June 1, 1929, at Limestone, Ark., son of Floyd and Nannie Brown Adams. He and Lena Tharp were married Oct. 31, 1959, at Circle City, Mo.
Adams was the office manager for Averett and Son Implement and ProAg in Dexter for more than 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Crystal Burress of Jackson and Stephanie Thomason of Dudley, Mo.; three brothers, Leonard Adams of Bell City, Mo., Hearold Adams of Morehouse, Mo., and A.C. Adams of Sikeston, Mo.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Adams and Rev. Donald Adams officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery.
