Funeral for Robert Junior Bell of Kansas City, Mo., will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Johnny Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bell, 38, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at his home.

He was born Jan. 1, 1964, in Crawfordville, Ark., son of Samuel and Annie Lou Townsend Bell.

Bell was a 1983 graduate of Central High School, and attended John A. Logan College. He moved to Kansas City in 1999 and worked in construction facility maintenance at Maxus. He was a former ironworker with All Pro Construction.

He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, was a youth activity coordinator at Brush Creek Community Center, and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and Salvation Army.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Woods of Cape Girardeau, Stavone Riley of Nashville, Tenn., Nicholas Larkin of Kansas City; three daughters, Shametri and Demetric Williams of Jackson, Mo., Shabrail Johnson of Cape Girardeau; and his mother of Cape Girardeau.

Also surviving are four brothers, Albert and John Bell and Montey King of Cape Girardeau, Jimmie Bell of Cameron, Mo.; six sisters, Verbie Jackson, Shirley, Annie M., Arleather, and Annie G. Bell, all of Cape Girardeau, and Maggie Smith of Portland, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, and a sister.
