TAMMS, Ill. -- Funeral service for Robert D. Ufert, 70, of Tamms, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Beth Tickner will officiate, with burial in McCrite Cemetery.

Ufert, 70, died Friday, June 19, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He was born Aug. 26, 1921, in Wood River, son of Paul and Winnefred Burch Ufert. He and Maxine Wilson were married Dec. 10, 1964.

Ufert was a member of Tamms United Methodist Church and Wood River VFW Post. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; a son, James Ufert of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Elizabeth Horton of Allenwood, Pa.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
