HILLSBORO, Mo. -- Robert G. Hines, 84 of Hillsboro died Monday, March 23, 2020.

He was born May 17, 1935, in Lilbourn, Missouri, to Robert C. and Verda Smith Hines. He and Carol Ann Baumgartner were married in 1961 at Red Bud, Illinois.

Robert was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a former member of First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann Hines; sons, Robert W. Hines and Joel Hines; daughter, Mary Beth (the late Dave) McClean; grandchild, Robert C. Hines; and sister, Mary Margaret Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joel Corby Hines.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Burial will be at a later date at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri.
