Robert Louis Johnson, 75, of Jackson died Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Jan. 2, 1940, in Columbia, Missouri, to James Leonard and Mildred Marie (Cook) Johnson.

He and Judith Leslie were married Sept. 30, 1966, at Jackson.

Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, where he served on several committees.

He was very instrumental in getting Safety City built in Jackson. He also taught youth in Sunday School for several years.

Before becoming a member of First Baptist, he had been a member of County Line Baptist Church from 1948 to 1976.

Bob was very active in the Local #908 Cement Masons Union. He last worked for Lappe Cement for 27 years.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Johnson of Jackson; daughter, Lori (Brian) Thompson of Patton, Missouri; sisters, Mary Whilhite of Cape Girardeau and Betty Crites of Bloomington, Illinois; and grandsons, Dylan and Spencer Bragg of Patton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Jackson, with the Revs. Lucas Clabough and Jack Leslie officiating.

Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church of Jackson.
