Robert L. Cockrell, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 28, 1996, at The Lutheran Home.
He was born July 18, 1919, in Marmaduke, Ark., the son of Ceasar and Siddie Payne Cockrell. He and Dorothy Smith were united in marriage on Sept. 6, 1952, in Chicago.
Cockrell was a retired welder.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Robert Cockrell of Homewood, Ill.; three daughters, Linda Cockrell of Westchester, Nancy Kuna of Crete, Ill., and Susan Kuna of South Chicago Heights, Ill.; one sister, Letha Cockrell of Mesler; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Frank Husted officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
