Robert "Bob" Lee Leimer, 83, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 5, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, son of Hilda Viola Leimer. Robert "Bob" Lee Leimer, 83, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 5, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, son of Hilda Viola Leimer.

He and Iva Dee Clardy were married, and three children -- Rocky, Bobbi and Tina -- were born to their union. Bob and Joan Faye Beanland were married on Feb. 10, 1977. One son, Bryan, was born to their union. In addition, Joan gave Bob a stepdaughter, Robin, and a stepson, Kevin, whom Bob loved as his own. Joan passed away Jan. 5, 2017.

Bob was baptized on July 24, 1938, and confirmed on March 18, 1951, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. He was the owner and operator of Leimer Fencing. Many of the fences on many of the farms in Cape Girardeau County were built by Bob, his sons and stepson. Bob was known for building solid and good-looking fences. Bob loved being outside, and he loved his Farmall tractors.

Loving survivors include a son, Rocky (Angela Myers) Leimer of Pocahontas; daughter, Bobbi (the late Clarence) Lenear of Humble, Texas; daughter, Tina (Juliann Lowery) Leimer of Portland, Oregon; and son, Bryan (Ashly) Leimer of Jackson; stepdaughter, Robin Marberry of Cape Girardeau; and stepson, Kevin (Cathy) Schremp of Jackson.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Joan Leimer, and his mother.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday in Chapel A at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steven Theiss officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Pocahontas.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. John's Lutheran Church or Cemetery in Pocahontas.
