Roland George Stadt, 89, of Jackson died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 7, 1921, in Grant Park, Ill., to George and Maria Sophia Caroline Riechers Stadt. Roland married Luella E. Ahrens June 16, 1951.
He farmed in the Grant Park area before moving to Jackson, where he farmed and also owned and operated a water hauling business more than 35 years, retiring in 1992. Roland was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Luella Stadt of Jackson; five sons, Steve Stadt of Kentucky, Randy Stadt of Colorado, Rodney Stadt and Darrel (Carla) Stadt of Jackson, Darwin (Claire) Stadt of Oak Ridge; two daughters, Lavonne Harrell of Falmouth, Va., Diane Lunsford of Jackson; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edgar, Edmund, Myron; and two sisters, Elnora and Marilyn.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home and 1 p.m. to service time Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
