PERRYVILLE -- Rose A. Bohnert, 72, of Perryville died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Perry County Nursing Home.
She was born April 22, 1927, at Belgique, daughter of James H. and Mary Elnora Belsha Gibbar. She and James J. "Chink" Bohnert were married Jan. 17, 1948.
Bohnert had owned and operated Rose's Beauty Shop. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include her husband; eight daughters, Gail Bohnert of Bahrain, Joyce Soto, Lois Prost, Tracy Prost and Peggy Welker, all of Perryville, Colyn Wibbenmeyer of Sikeston, Penny Schwent of Schaumburg, Ill., and Jaye Mier of West Bend, Wis.
Also surviving are two sisters, Jeanette Brown of Perryville, Jane Franklin of St. Louis; a brother, James Gibbar Jr. of Perryville; 24 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 6:30-9:30 a.m. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
