MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Rose Marie Detloff Shumpert, 66, of Marble Hill passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born on Aug. 26, 1949, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, she was the daughter of John P. and Beata Schmitz Detloff.
Following her move to Missouri, she received her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University and was licensed as a registered nurse. She worked at Saint Francis Medical Center for 18 years and then worked for Pyramid Home Health until her death.
She attended Cape First Church in Cape Girardeau and the Cowboy Church at Gravel Hill.
She married Charles Shumpert Sr. on Sept. 7, 2007, at Scopus, Missouri. He survives. She also is survived by her daughter, Stacy (David) Creech of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren who dearly loved her, Kylie Marie and Kason David Creech; and a dear friend of the family, Nancy Adams of Jackson.
A celebration of life memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion Church, on County Road 322, near Scopus. Inurnment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Hutchings Funeral Chapel of Marble Hill assisted the family.
