ROY BRITT

OLMSTED, Ill. -- Roy Britt, 91, of Jeffersonville, Ind., formerly of Olmsted, died Thursday, April 14, 1994, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.

He was born Dec. 10, 1902, in Pulaski County, son of George W. and Ida Kennedy Britt. He and Marie Scruggs were married Dec. 20, 1922. She died Aug. 3, 1976. He later married Louise Griffin Aug. 7, 1977.

Britt was a brakeman on Illinois Central Railroad many years, had been a self-employed mechanic, and was a licensed pilot. He attended First Christian Church in Carbondale, and was a member of American Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Merrill Britt of Santa Clara, Calif.; a daughter, Evelyn Smither of Jeffersonville; a stepdaughter, Jane Dycus of Carbondale; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and four stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin from 4-9 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Suzanne Webb officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
