CAIRO, Ill. -- Ruby F. Metheny, 90, of Cairo, died Sunday, July 16, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She married Ray V. Metheny, who died in 1988. CAIRO, Ill. -- Ruby F. Metheny, 90, of Cairo, died Sunday, July 16, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She married Ray V. Metheny, who died in 1988.

The Methenys owned and operated Metheny's Market in Cairo many years. She was a member of Tigert Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Cheryl Metheny of Carbondale, Janet Shissler of Affton, Mo., and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kelly Cox officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery at East Prairie, Mo.
