CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ruth Elizabeth Elledge, 93, of Chaffee died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born Oct. 21, 1916, at Bloomfield, Mo., daughter of William James and Frocey Elizabeth Grogan Shipman. She and Norman Woodrow Elledge were married Aug. 27, 1949. He preceded her in death Aug. 28, 1984.

Ruth retired as manager of Cox 5¢ to 10¢ Dime Store in Chaffee. She was a member of the General Baptist Church in Chaffee.

Survivors include a daughter, Lela Ann (Bob) Adams of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and seven brothers and sisters.

A private graveside service was held Monday at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee, with the Rev. Vyron Yount officiating and the Rev. Bob Lewis assisting.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee was in charge of arrangements.
