Ruth B. Hinkle, 94, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, peacefully at Heartland Care and Rehab Center.

She was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Gipsy, Missouri, the daughter of Noah Buford and Lillie Mae Jackson VanMatre.

Ruth worked as a secretary for insurance companies. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and a member of Marble Hill United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Byron Nelson Bollinger of Cape Girardeau; granddaughter, Brittnie Leigh (Seth) Hudson of Cape Girardeau; one great-granddaughter, Daphnie; and one sister, Kay (Jerry) Smith of Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Lillie; one son, Barny Bollinger; her first husband, Nelson Bollinger; her second husband, Melvin Hinkle; three brothers, Clint, JB and Gene VanMatre; and two sisters, Freeda Huskey and Shirley Bollinger.

Visitation will be fro 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Marble Hill United Methodist Church, with Pastor Tim Zych officiating. Burial will follow at Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
