MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Sandra Kay Benne, 63, of Marble Hill died Saturday, March 3, 2012, at her home.
She was born Sept. 12, 1948, in Nueces County, Texas, to E.T. and Mary Elizabeth Huckstep McLain.
Sandra was a graduate of Central High School. She had worked as a surgical scrub tech at Saint Francis Medical Center and Southeast Hospital, and had also worked for Dr. Joseph Tygett. She previously worked at Jackson Hosiery Mill. She was a member of Heartland Lace Guild.
Survivors include an uncle, John (Jackie) Huckstep of LaGrange, Ga.; cousins, Mike, Keith, Tim and Mark Huckstep, and Tammy Hunt; her dogs, Ruby and Gertie; and a parrot, Pepper.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to service time March 16 at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. March 16 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Newell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Cape Girardeau Public Library or the charity of choice.
