Funeral for Shannon Shawnta Dalton of Cape Girardeau will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Revs. William Bird, Paula Jones and Sheldon Tyler will officiate. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time.

Dalton, 20, died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Jan. 14, 1978, in Chicago, daughter of Arthur Gilwater and Charlene Dalton.

Dalton worked at A&W Root Beer at West Park Mall. She attended Greater Dimension Church.

She had lived in Chicago, Sikeston, Cairo, Ill., and the past six years in Cape Girardeau. She attended Central High School and the Alternate Education Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Gabrielle Dalton and Brianna Shaw of Cape Girardeau; her mother of Cape Girardeau; her father of Cape Girardeau; and stepfather, James Willis of Cairo.

Also surviving are five brothers, James Dalton of Cape Girardeau, Arthur Terry, James, Jerrod, and Sherrod Willis, all of Illinois; 11 sisters, Leoda Clark of Ft. Worth, Texas, Sallandra Terry with the U.S. Army, Faith and Charity Terry, Denise, Shayla, Ishida, Tiffinae, Jalisa, Kendra and Cadesia Willis, all of Illinois; grandmothers, Clara Winters of Cape Girardeau, and Barbara Dalton of Chicago.
