CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Sharlett Ann Eftink, 56, of Chaffee passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at the family home.
She was born Jan. 28, 1956, in Chaffee, to Philip Aloysius and Doris Jean Klipfel Walter. Sharlett married Jerome Eftink on Nov. 23, 1974.
Sharlett was an eighth-grade language arts teacher at Jackson Junior High, retiring in 2012 after teaching 30 years. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Daughters of St. Ambrose, was a confirmation instructor, member of the mentoring program, Professional Development Committee, Junior High Leadership Team, started the Junior High Reading Program and volunteered with the CALB Program.
Survivors include her husband, Jerome of the home; her mother, Doris Walter of Oran, Mo.; a son, Josh (Arica) Eftink of Gordonville; two daughters, Tonya (Brad Wessel) Eftink of Chaffee, Jacquelyn Eftink of Portland, Maine; three grandsons, Brayden, Dawson and Nolan Eftink of Gordonville; five brothers, Ronnie Walter, Randy (June) Walter, Kim (Cheryl) Walter, all of Oran, Danny (Gail) Walter of Chaffee, Scott (Sandy) Walter of Oran; six sisters, Carla (Bennie) Ray of Oran, Donna (Jim) Dinges of South Bend, Ind., Gail (Randy) Dumey of Chaffee, Karen (John) Pobst of Scott City, Cindy (Neal) Seyer of Oran and Sandy (Mark) Mahurin of Bloomington, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her father and stepfather, Harold "Bud" Sietman.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 4 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Church, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant and the Rev. Ralph Duffner as concelebrant. Burial will be in St. Ambrose Cemetery.
