Sherry Lynne Graham, 68, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, with her family by her side.
She was born Oct. 23, 1955, to Claud and Ruth Meador of Zalma.
She attended grade school and high school in Zalma. She completed business classes at Southeast Missouri State University and Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
She was employed by Wetterau Corp. in Scott City as a grocery buyer and later as grocery manager for SuperValu in St. Louis. She also worked in the wholesale grocery business with Nash Finch in Indiana and Spartan Nash of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Sherry dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She couldn't wait to retire and move back to Cape Girardeau to be with them.
In addition to her career in the wholesale grocery business, she was an exceptional cook and baker. Her cookies, cakes and breads were legendary wherever she lived. But her "claim to fame" was her outstanding bread-and-butter pickles and homemade potato salad. These were always in great demand by family and friends.
Sherry was loved by her family, friends, business associates and granddogs, Max and Tilly. She will be greatly missed, but we all have so many wonderful memories to remember her by.
Survivors include her husband, Anthony Graham of Cape Girardeau; sisters, Peggy Talley of Cape Girardeau and Phyllis Porter of Virginia; daughter, Minyo (Mark) Ticer of Cape Girardeau; son, Jacob (Amber) Acord of Arkansas; stepdaughter, Amy (John) Eaton of Murphysboro, Illinois; grandchildren, Seth (Kelsey) Ticer and Haley Ticer of Cape Girardeau, Angel (Josh) Bryant of Jackson and Dylan and Brenlyn Eaton of Murphysboro; and one lovely great-granddaughter, Lennon Evan Ticer of Cape Girardeau.
Sherry's parents and one brother, Roger Meador, preceded her in death.
There will be a private ceremony for family and friends at a later date.
Memorial donations may be sent to Safe House for Women, 2350 Independence St., Cape Girardeau, MO 63703.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Crain Funeral Home.
