Stephen M. Davie, 70, of Cape Girardeau passed away surrounded by his family Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born May 17, 1950, in Cape Girardeau to the late Alvin and Margaret Cook Davie. He and Jeannie Dalton were married in 1987.

Stephen was a 1968 Cape Girardeau Central High School graduate and shortly after joined the U.S. Army. He proudly served in the Vietnam War.

Stephen worked for Wiethop Truck Sales, now Summit Truck Group, for 48 years. He started as a technician and was currently working as a warranty administrator.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved his family and spending as much time with them as he could.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Davie of Jackson; daughters, Tammy (Jason) Potts of Dickson, Tennessee; Tina Mezo of Jackson; and Tonia (Shannon) Hughes of Grand Tower, Illinois; five siblings, Larry (Angie) Davie, Kenny (Debbie) Davie, John (Patricia) Davie, Judy (Don) Mika and Bob Davie; grandchildren, Tyler Wagnitz, Madison Davie, Jaden Potts, Alanah Davie and Haegan Hughes; several nieces and nephews; many close co-workers who were like family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Travis M. Davie; sister-in-law, Kim Davie; niece, Madyson Oliver; and nephew, Cory Davie.

Visitation will be at noon prior to the service on Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. The family requests that all attending please wear a mask.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
