CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Sterling B. "Lefty" Duncan, 79, of Chaffee died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at his home. He was born Aug. 22, 1925, in Bethesda, Ark., son of William Henry and Ann Thompson Duncan. He and Pauline York were married Oct. 2, 1982. She died Aug. 8, 1985...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Sterling B. "Lefty" Duncan, 79, of Chaffee died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at his home.

He was born Aug. 22, 1925, in Bethesda, Ark., son of William Henry and Ann Thompson Duncan. He and Pauline York were married Oct. 2, 1982. She died Aug. 8, 1985.

Duncan had been an attendant at Heeb Sinclair (later Bess Sinclair) in Chaffee. He was a member of and played the guitar at the House of Prayer.

Survivors include a son, Mark Duncan of Manila, Ark.; a daughter, Anita Stewart of Bay, Ark.; two stepsons, Ervin Cliff of Mississippi, Ray Cliff of Malden, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Pat Brown and Sharon Cato of Bernie, Mo.; two brothers, John Duncan of Little Rock, Ark., Samuel Duncan of Jackson; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Travis Hendrix officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery at Dexter, Mo.
