Steven J. LaBruyere, 55, of Jackson died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 2, 1959, in St. Louis to Thomas Edward and Daisy Ann Nussbaum LaBruyere Sr. He and Janie Jackman were married June 7, 1997 in Cape Girardeau.

Steve was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for Silgan Plastics in Scott City.

Survivors include his wife, Janie LaBruyere of Jackson; daughters, Tanya (fiance, Dwight Dobbs) LaBruyere of Fruitland, Rashanne LaBruyere of Jackson and Quella (Chad) Wheeler of Fruitland; son, Brad (Kristen) LaBruyere of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Pam LaBruyere of St. Louis; brothers, David, Tim (Kathryn) and Kevin (Jackie) LaBruyere of St. Louis; grandchildren, Kaleb and Kyleigh Greenley, Jackson and Jordan Wheeler and Kyle Dobbs; nieces; nephews; and sister-in-law, Annette LaBruyere of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom LaBruyere.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors by the Missouri Honors Team.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association, 460 N. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63141.
