PINEVILLE, La. -- Sue Platt, 85, of Pineville, formerly of Granbury, Texas, and Jackson, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, in Louisiana.

Sue was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Inchon, Korea, the sixth of seven children, to Sin Ko Choi and Soon Eh Kang. Sue was a graduate of Sookmyung Women's University in Seoul, Korea. She and Larry Platt were married Nov. 25, 1955, in Seoul, Korea.

Larry was an officer in the U.S. Navy. While he was in officer's supply school, Sue and the girls stayed in Jackson, and Sue attended the former Jackson School of Hairdressing. While living in Portsmouth, Virginia, she worked at General Electric.

The family resided in many places: Korea; South Carolina; Paris; California; and Virginia, returning to Korea in 1971, where their three daughters graduated from high school.

Sue wrote and spoke fluent Japanese, and while living in Korea, worked as needed as an interpreter for the U.S. military.

Sue and Larry then lived several years in the Philippines, and most recently lived over 30 years in Granbury, Texas.

Sue was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and homemaker. She cherished her family above all else and always thought of others before herself. She enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing bridge.
