SIKESTON, Mo. -- Sylvester Elfrink, 89, of Sikeston passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
He was born Nov. 30, 1921, at Leopold, Mo., son of John Herman and Mary Hulshof Elfrink.
Sylvester was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was co-owner of Elfrink Truck Lines 40 years. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance 56 years. He was currently a member of St. Francis Xavier in Sikeston.
Sylvester and Anna Reagan were married June 18, 1947, at Leopold.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Elfrink of St. Louis; two daughters, Jane Eaves of Sikeston, Polly Bradford of Wauseon, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Parish prayers will be at 7:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Revs. Randy Tochtrop and Robert Landewe officiating. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military rites.
