DEXTER -- Hortense "Tensey" Davis, 82, of Dexter, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 1, 1917, at White Cloud, Kan., daughter of Charles R. and Lucy Ruggles Farmer. She and Moy Wray Davis were married Jan. 12, 1935, at Dexter. He died Oct. 2, 1979.

Davis attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Dexter and was a former employee of International Hat Co.

Survivors include one son, Howard Davis of Alma, Ill.; a daughter, Joyce McQuary of Dexter; four brothers, Charles Farmer, Raymond Farmer, Jim Farmer and Allen Farmer all of Dexter; four sisters, Yvonne Taylor of Wappapello, Levella Gold, Roxine Terrill and Frankie Kinder, all of Dexter; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.

Friend may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Bob Wiggins will officiate, with burial in Caroline Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter.
