Teresa Gail Schearf Cooper, 42, of Delta passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2003, at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Teresa Gail Schearf Cooper, 42, of Delta passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2003, at home, after a courageous battle with cancer.

On Dec. 7, 1991, Teresa and Brent Cooper were married at their current home in Delta.

Survivors include her husband; parents, Alvin and Maebell Bradshaw Schearf; a sister and brother-in-law, Terri and Tab Collins; and a nephew, Alan Ray Collins, all of Delta; and her father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Charlotte Cooper of Bloomfield, Mo.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Alan Wayne; paternal and maternal grandparents.

Teresa was employed at U.S. Poly Enterprises as plant manager. She was also president and founder of Sundog Animal Sanctuary, the first no-kill sanctuary in Southeast Missouri. This was a dream come true for Teresa, as she had compassion and love for God's homeless pets.

Visitation will be held at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sid Mannis officiating. Burial will be in Kenyon Cemetery at Delta.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Sundog Animal Sanctuary, Box 1, Delta, Mo., 63744.
