KELSO -- Theresa Elizabeth Blattel, 79, of Kelso died Saturday, Aug. 2, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 30, 1918, at Glennonville, the daughter of William and Johanna Heidelbeck Weidenbenner.

She married Zeno "Sam" Blattel on Feb. 18, 1941, at St. Louis.

She was a seamstress for Ely Walker Co.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso and the Ladies Sodality of the church.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Zeno "Sam" Blattel Jr. of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Margaret Pikey of St. Charles; three brothers, Anthony "Tony" Weidenbenner of Crystal City, Oscar Weidenbenner of Racine, Wis., and Joseph Weidenbenner of Belleville, Ill.; two sisters, Minnie Corrigan of Memphis, Tenn., and Margaret Butzen of Ottawa, Ill.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City. Parish rosary will be recited at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Msgr. George Holland will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
