Thomas Albert Gibson, 78, of Carlsbad, Calif., died Saturday, April 21, 2001. He was born June 21, 1922, in Cape Girardeau, son of David Murray and Pearl Phillips Gibson. He and Margaret Jamison were married Dec. 7, 1946, in San Francisco. Gibson was a 1939 graduate of Central High School. He was an insurance agent several years, served with the Los Angeles Police Department, and after retiring managed an apartment complex in Carlsbad...

Thomas Albert Gibson, 78, of Carlsbad, Calif., died Saturday, April 21, 2001.

He was born June 21, 1922, in Cape Girardeau, son of David Murray and Pearl Phillips Gibson. He and Margaret Jamison were married Dec. 7, 1946, in San Francisco.

Gibson was a 1939 graduate of Central High School. He was an insurance agent several years, served with the Los Angeles Police Department, and after retiring managed an apartment complex in Carlsbad.

He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific.

Survivors include his wife; and a sister, Pauline Taylor of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
