Thomas J. "Tommy" Omohundro Jr., 37, formerly of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis, due to complications from an undetected heart ailment.

He was born Sept. 9, 1966, at Hannibal, Mo., son of Tom and Joyce Beatty Omohundro. He and Teri Paczkowski were married in January 1989.

Tommy was a 1984 graduate of Jackson High School, where he participated in track, cross country, band, and several school organizations. He attended Southeast Missouri State University two years, and then graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-Rolla with a degree in mechanical engineering. He later earned his professional engineering certificate.

He began his career with Amoco in Wood River, Ill. He then worked at the former O'Brien Engineering in St. Louis. When O'Brien merged with Mead and formed Mead O'Brien, Tom continued with the new company. He temporarily located to Paducah, Ky., to manage their Calvert City office. He had been back in the St. Louis office six months.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Teri; their children, Jordan, Grant and Madison, all of Wildwood, Mo.; his parents of Jackson; a brother, Dr. Richard Omohundro, his wife Kathy and their children, Emily and Molly of Fulton, Mo.; two sisters, Susan Wood and son Jonathan of Thomasville, Ga., Jody Omohundro and son Michael Smith of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard and Anna Omohundro, and maternal grandparents, Thomas and Myrtle Beatty.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Schrader Funeral Home, 14960 Manchester Road, Ballwin, Mo.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. The Rev. John Rice, pastor of New McKendree United Methodist Church, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Teri Omohundro for the children's college education. Contributions may be mailed to Teri at 16416 Monroe Knoll Court, Wildwood, Mo. 63040.
