CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Thurman Lee Skaggs Jr., 66, of Chaffee passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the family home.
He was born Nov. 17, 1946, in Zalma, Mo., son of Thurman Lee and Evelyn Huff Skaggs Sr.
Thurman served in the United States Army, and was a military police officer for 20 years.
Survivors include a son, Bryan (Debra) Skaggs of Thebes, Ill.; a daughter, Stacy Kennedy of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Ronnie (Barb) Skaggs of Scott City; a sister, Linda K. Marsh of Scott City; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military honors presented by Missouri Honor Guard.
